Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)

​An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to support a GP practice in the Dorset area on a locum basis. This role offers a series of day shifts between 09:00–18:00 across multiple dates in June and July, making it ideal for an ANP seeking flexibility and consistent work within a primary care setting.

The successful candidate will be confident working independently, assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients presenting with a range of acute and minor illnesses. Experience using System 1 is essential to ensure seamless integration into the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct autonomous patient assessments within a primary care environment
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and minor illnesses
• Prescribe medications where appropriate and within scope of practice
• Deliver safe, evidence-based patient care in line with practice protocols
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using System 1
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support patient outcomes

Requirements

• Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) with relevant experience in primary care
• Ability to work autonomously within a busy GP practice setting
• Experience using System 1
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and patient management abilities
