Job description
We are looking for an experienced Medical Summariser to join a GP surgery/primary care setting in Nottingham on a permanent, part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous GP surgery or primary care experience who is confident working with medical records, clinical terminology and coding. The position offers 1–2 days per week, with no set working days and flexibility around working times and hours.
Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Summariser, you will be responsible for reviewing and summarising patients’ medical records, helping to ensure that information is accurately recorded and kept up to date.
Your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing and summarising patient medical records.
Accurately coding diagnoses, medications, investigations and significant medical history.
Reviewing incoming clinical information and updating patient records accordingly.
Ensuring patient records are clear, accurate and up to date.
Identifying and recording relevant clinical information within patient records.
Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling sensitive medical information.
About You
To be considered for this position, you should have:
Previous experience working within a GP surgery or primary care environment.
A good understanding of medical terminology and clinical coding.
Confidence using SystmOne.
Experience reviewing and maintaining patient medical records.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
The ability to work effectively and independently.
