About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced clinicians to join our growing team of NHS Pathways Clinical Advisors to work in the NHS 111 service. This role plays a critical part in patient care by delivering safe, effective clinical triage over the telephone and supporting patients to access the right care, at the right time.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced NHS 111 clinicians who are looking to apply their clinical skills, while continuing to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Experience of working in NHS 111 services
Clinically assess patients using NHS Pathways
Deliver safe, accurate, and timely clinical assessment
Identify and escalate high-risk and life-threatening situations appropriately
Provide clear advice and reassurance to patients and callers
Navigate patients to the most appropriate services and care pathways
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and service partners
Adhere to clinical governance, safeguarding and data protection standards
Essential Requirements
Current registration with a recognised professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC)
NHS Pathways qualification
Minimum of 1-year post-qualification clinical experience
Strong clinical decision-making and risk assessment skills
Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
Confident use of IT systems and digital platforms
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
Desirable Experience
Previous experience in triage, urgent care, or out-of-hours services
Experience working in telephone or remote clinical roles
Knowledge of safeguarding and mental health triage
Experience in primary, community, or emergency care
